One Fans Perspective - the 88 team

Who has the best locked in spot for next year? Its not to the soon to be crowned champion or the team sitting 35th come February. The honors go to the 88 Robert Yates Racing team. With no driver or sponsor this team might not run next year. After 29 races the 88 team sites 23rd place and over 500 points ahead of the 36th place team. How much would it cost to buy the only open locked spot for next year. Michael Waltrip would say its worth every penny he spend to get the spot from the closed Penske-Jasper team. Some fans think a team should not be able to buy a spot into a race. I happen to disagree and feel anyone with enough money to run a full season should do what ever they can to get in. So who might be getting this much sought after spot? Morgan-McClure were bumped out after waltrip got his this year, so maybe they have learned. Cal Wells has deep pockets and really needs races to keep tide happy. Or what about one of the much hyped toyotas? The common theme is none of these teams are fords but that's another story.
